I would say you be "professional" and delegate the responsibility out so u have a specialism with each guy but none have the complete picture like you would. You can then present the team highlights to seniors. I have been in a similar situ and after nearly 2 years....im being forced to put an Out of Office on my outlook mail box so that my team have sight of all my mails. Grrr... I did make myself indespensible

Make yourself indispensible. Keep the person who signs the timesheets sweet. Always help others willingly and if you can be seen doing so <raisevoice>I'm just finishing this email and I'll be round in a sec, hang on!</raisevoice> etc etc
And get a few rounds in at the pub for your permie counterparts.

Technical Project Manager - Keeping Job!!
So first time doing contracting and I get to manage a team of four junior guys.
Basically I am thinking what the best approach to ensure my survival at the company.
Do I hoard all information from management about the bigger picture and get people to work on small chunks without them understanding the complete picture. This puts me in agood place because I am the only one who knows about everything :-)
Or do I share all emails / work with the team and push them to show initative.
I am not thinking about morally right and wrong here - I am thinking about how to maximise my contracting gigTags: None
