Question about returning as contractor
Until recently, I was contracting as an associate of a small consulting organisation and had been for about 18 months. Eventually I joined the company as a full time employee however I have found that I am missing my freedom and that I would like to return to contracting ideally for the same organisation. When I discussed this with them, they said that fundementally they had no problem but that it would be frowned on by the Revenue who would probably see it as tax evasion on the part of the consultancy and my company. I am somewhat suspicious about this and have a feeling that it is simply the company wishing to keep me as an employee and using the fear of the Revenue to avoid saying no. Does anyone have any experience of this kind of situation?Tags: None
