Which reminds me, the World Service is world class. Although you don't strictly need to be in the UK to listen in. More in the world. Or rather on the surface of the World. Might be able to be picked up on the Moon with a really good antenna too
Depends on where you listen to it though. In some places it's pretty dire and doesn't even tell you when the pound is in free fall...
I reckon London is one of the best things about the UK.
It is a magnificent place and boasts some wonderful places to visit.
I just wouldnt want to live there.
... and then reflect that Dutch radio is among the best in Europe, UK aside.

Fact is the UK is a distinctly mediocre country, fast becoming 2nd world.
It probably never was the best place - unless in the minds of those brainwashed by the elite to think so.
Pubs
Parks & beautiful countryside
Our tolerance
Our ability to form orderly queues (although it's deteriorated, still better than most)
Real ale
Castles
most of all, it's the British people.. quite a few of you guys rock.
let's face it though the weather is dire/cold/grey
the public transport is stretched (although nice to see it.. it doesn't exist in some places)
it's friggen expensive
but there is always something to do/see or going on
and always somebody elses life to laugh at down the pub
