Three crap summers + recession + affirmation of Britain's crapness as holiday destination by millions of Brits who momentarily got dewy eyed over a miserable trip to Dorset in their youth. Next year everyone is going to the Mediterranean, and sod the cost.

Little sign of the Barbecue Summer here, but luckily not much Swine flu either. As for jobs - what are they?
