Shame that isn't it - I only found out about the role at that client from the agency not from anyone I knew there already. Thing is its a large co so difficult for them to keep track of what roles are going - its not like a perm job list as gigs for the role I am going for are normally kept a little quiet in this co.

I enjoy interviews - for me its ShowTime - oh by now I really know my technical stuff which is useful - but for those whom an interview is an ordeal - contracting might not be your cuppa tea.

20+ years contracting you can imagine my opinion of pimps and nothing anybody will ever post about a pimp's doings will surprise or shock me.

Get yer own back - go direct.

Yep, I don't generally believe the reasons given to me as feedback. If you think back carefully over the interview and the interviewers reactions, you'll probably get more useful info.

When I was a permie sitting in as a second interviewer, the hiring manager would just invent any old random reason as agent feedback for not hiring.

Usually, apart from obvious technical incompetence, the truth was that there was something about the interviewee that the hiring manager just didn't like or feel comfortable about during the interview.

As unfair as it seems, I think that's fairly typical for the interview process. You end up hiring people who are good at interviews, rather than good at the intended job.
