I forgot to mention what I do when it's coming on. A few pints and a nice hot curry, then retreat to bed early with a large flask of tea.
"Feed a cold, starve a fever". It's a swine if a cold makes you lose your appetite.

Oh yes - there will be a couple of days where you really won't be able to stomach a meal. Eat well beforehand.

Crikey, I honestly don't remember *ever* losing my appetite, not even slightly, when I've had flu or anything else. If I'm ever off my food, I'll know I'm really in trouble.
