I`m a BTL`er but my gut feeling is that the days of such dramatic moves upwards in house prices are gone for now.

How about buying Ozzie shares? That will cover some of your currency risk. Just be careful with transferring money to Aussie super, the rules are pretty tight and if you want any of it before age 60 you've got buckleys.
