    True, most of the bands (except Hendrix) couldn't have got arrested back then. I think it was the Who's first bif US gig and the first time Santana had ever played to a large crowd. Apparently, at the time, the biggest name on the bill was Creedence & they didn't even make it on to the film.

    I listened to a Radio 4 presentation on Woodstock.

    At the time it wasn't seen as the mega event that it was, infact it was a bit of a feck up. Most of what is "woodstock" is actually a woodstock myth that has been built up since the event.

    Kind of both. You get the original DVD plus another DVD with another load of performances. The extra DVD isn't edited like the original though - it's just the performances themselves.

    Did they have a token system and machines that pour 20 pints in 10 seconds?

    Festivals would be hell without modern technology and they're a fraction of the size of Woodstock, IOW etc.

    They must have been easily pleased in those days.

    Watched the new DVD last night - awesome. Anyone seen it? There's a whole load of extra performances - Greatful Dead, Creedence Clearwater, Mountain plus other performances from the acts on the original version.
    Shame they didn't cut out Joan Baez though.

    Funnily enough, it's the 40th anniversary of said festival in a few days time strange the media have been so quiet about it.
