Does anybody remember the days when...
Agents called to invite you for lunch / drinks (and they paid)?
When agencies arranged nights out for contractors (and they paid)?
When agents called they had solid leads or were trying to entice you away from your current contract?
You had faith in your agency (or agencies), and could even count an agent or two among your friends?
EDIT:
And I might add;
Paying for flights to interviews both domestic and international (business class - I tulip you not).

I think quite highly of agents : I have worked with some good ones.
I have worked with a few contractors who are cr4p.

I am knitting a scarf (I am doing knit one, pearl one, knit one, pearl one, etc.) and my scarf is curling in on the sides and looking like a tube. What can I do to fix the edges and make them flat? The yarn is made of acryllic so I can't iron it flat without melting it. And I am almost done with my scarf (I have about 6 inches left to do) and I don't want to start over! Is there any saving this one?
TIA.
Edit: Sorry, wrong forum.

A thread to praise agents
Despite the poor opinion certain contractors give of them, they battle day and night to bring us lucrative earning opportunities.
I for one, salute those inteprid market warriors.
