I know that Trolls and Sockpuppets tend to be universally reviled and loathed wherever they lay their ugly hats, but, on reflection, perhaps we should welcome them with open arms.
Now, before I receive a jolly good botty spanking, I'd like to put forward my case for the defence.
You see, up and down the land, thousands of forums like this one (well not exactly like this one, but you get my drift) are performing a daily public service by providing a place for these poor unfortunates and social retards to spout their meaningless drivel.
Why is this a good thing ?
Well, the alternative is far too hideous to contemplate, but just imagine if you will that these mysterious personas behind the trolls and sockpuppet avatars were actually loose on the streets, frightening small children, scaring the horses and trying to communicate with real, living human beings ?
Can you imagine the sheer carnage ?
The very thought that you may have to interact with one such individual in the real world ?
CUK, and many other forums across the land perform a valuable service.
We are a refuge for the raving, a haven for the hysterical, and a sanctuary for the senseless.
For every minute that they are posting there, there is one less minute that they are bothering someone in the real world.
In the 1990's, every bus had the man in a mac, rocking back and forth muttering to himself.
Nowadays, with the advent of the Internet, those men on the buses are now posting on forums instead. You almost never see them on out in public anymore.
The Interweb may be many things, but it has a social heart, and keeps most of the crazies off the streets, and for that we should be thankful.

WHS. Best thing is to just ignore it methinks.Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostHe's a low quality troll with a penchant for telling porkies, short of banning he will hang around indefinitely. It must take a "special" mentality to find trolling amusing especially when it's this poor.

Obviously, this site is for the above-average contractor. You should retire your account immediately.

We could organise on-line workshops on how to combat racism in the workplace, or on how to develop solutions that are better for the environment? How about setting up gay and women’s groups?Originally posted by pzz76077 View Post

Perhaps CUK could pay £250 for your old sockpuppet so that you can trade it in for a new shiny one.
