Makes me even more convinced that coming here was a good move.
I am currently recruiting a team if there are any testers on the way to Melbourne. Can't do sponsorships though.

ISTM though that I have 2 modes of living, and they are distinct" "European/city" where I want facilities, galleries, concerts, restaurants, etc, and other countries nearby; and "big country" where I want space and freedom, never mind stuff, I'll make my own life. I wonder if a 2-mode life might be best, but am fearful of trying to persuade others to join me.
I'm working on us moving to Scottish Highlands, with weekly commute to NL/Germany etc: that might do it. Best of both worlds? Some people use that as a pejorative term for a greedy person's wishes, I call it a worthwhile ambition.

Yep, they can be a rowdy lot, not always the most erudite chappies and sometimes they seem to despise us pommies (perhaps for saying things like that), but they´re not in recession. OK, 0.4% growth isn´t much, but it´s a hell of a lot better than the rest of the world. Maybe it´s their attitude that does it; no whingeing, just get on with doing what you want in life and when everything seems really tulip, have a barbecue and a couple of tinnies and get back to work in the morning. Work hard, play hard, you only live once.
I think we could all learn something from them.

Until you live there and then it turns the same shade of brown.
