    Land Transaction Return

    Have just done a remortgage. I made the mistake of leaving the wife's name off the form which means HMRC now assume there has been a change of ownership....which has resulted in a large tax assessment. Surveyor says as it's already gone to the land registry there is nought they can do. Am I screwed even though it was an innocent mistake?
