Swine Flu
Ianadr but from what I have read about it there is not too much point in worrying as there is no model around which can accurately predict the pattern of mutation, that the virus will take.
As far as I understand any virus has the potential to mutate into a killer, so it is a permanent latent risk, much like the earth getting hit by an asteroid.
So it could be a big deal, or it could not. Not much point stressing about it.

Time will tell, but worldwide it could well happen. Not every country has access to ant-virals and vaccines, or understands the importance of good hygiene and prevention. The UK may thus suffer less than other countries, but Asian populations will be hit disproportionately IMO.

That is the estimate of deaths due to swineflu within 6 to 9 months. I heard that on Sky News yesterday.
