Covering a small part of Sahara would be enough for EU needs.

Isn't this closer to magic than chemistry.... Disolve stuff and it all goes away!
If this method had any logic couldn't you just "disolve" all the bad stuff/pollution/CO2 and solve the (percieved) problem?

Well I think I am with you on this bit.......

    More pseudo science:
Methane/CO2 etc expelled by Cows etc is latent ie it exists within the atmosphere already (it is "absorbed" by grass etc and then eaten by cows and then expelled and then absorbed and then eaten etc) The farts of the animal kingdom have absolutly no bearing on the level of methane/CO2 etc in the atmosphere.
The very bodies of the cows etc hold CO2 etc only for a transient moment in time and when they die (most of it) it is re-introduced almost immediately - wether you bury them, burn them or eat them (and if you eat them then you produce the CO2 farts instead).
(NB On a global time scale of millions of years time for "dead" organic matter to decompose is almost instant)

If (and it is still IF) the release of CO2 etc leads to Global Warming/Climate Change it is the CO2 etc released by the burning of fossil fuel (where the CO2 etc has been "locked up" for millions of years) not Cows farting!

The biggest disservice done to those people that really care about the world we live in (wether or not they are right about GW/CC) is other people spouting pseudo-science as fact........ because when people (cynics) dismiss the pseudo-science then the (real) argument is also devalued....

ie The argument that Cow farts affect GW/CC is laughable but that doesn't mean that burning trilluions of tonnes of coal is harmless (even if GW/CC may not be fact)
FFS Are you AtW in disguise?

As for the rest of the world:
Please immediately start digging large trenches into which you can be quietly machine gunned and then your bodies dissolved (so as not to release any noxious substances).

My geography teacher in school referred to it as popollution - the problem that the planet has far too many people on it.

So - in the interests of dealing with this problem in the UK and thus leading the world (source: G Brown):

    - anyone with an IQ of <120 - report to Beachy Head immediately

    - anyone beyond the age of economic activity - Beachy Head

    - anyone who owns a hoodie and wears it with the hood up - Beachy Head too, please

    - anyone who believes that climate change is a fiction - you know where

    - anyone who is under the impression that organised religion is a brilliant idea and who has "accepted Jesus (Mohammed / Yaweh ad nauseum) into their lives" - take a wild guess

As for the rest of the world:

    - China
    - India
    - Brazil
    - Africa

Please immediately start digging large trenches into which you can be quietly machine gunned and then your bodies dissolved (so as not to release any noxious substances).

And finally, my ex-wife (hello, dear! ) - you too.

In regards to the rest of us -

    1. Solar power throughout the planet (we've just cleared hundreds of millions of square miles to place the solar panels on for goodness sakes)
    2. Everyone eats steak until all cattle are gone (thus removing the question of methane being expelled by cows)
    3. Exercise becomes mandatory for all

The consequences of these, admittedly a tad Draconian, actions are as follows:

    - we all live longer, happier, lives
    - our international development budgets are reduced to zero
    - we get longer to screw the planet over

MitchTT has come up with some good arguments on this subject in the past.
    In summary:
Reducing poverty and increasing eduction = reducing birth rate.

1 - Too many people around now and in the future, universal access to contraception NOW just to slow the rate of increase, scarcity of resources, plague, famine, war over resources etc will kill far more, better to stop them 'at source'.
2 - We are in the carbon age, this has lasted a tiny amount of time relative to the age of the planet and it will be over in a relative 'blink of an eye'. All other energy generation sources are essentially carbon neutral - problem solved.

Put you in charge of the country? I wouldn't trust you to count your gonads and get the same number twice running. You may be qualified to become a NL Chancellor however.
