You Humans must do something now and remove these animals from your homes. There are other nice animals, like CATS who can be your loving friends and look after you and your families nicely.

Our survey recently shows that the EVIL DOGS are not to be trusted and will rise up and overthrow their masters. You must act now !"

As unbiased as this "medical report" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyhvHB62ph8).

Someone should write to Professor 'Leslie' Willcocks and ask where this number comes from. The email is on the page.

The easiest way (well, as good as any others), to work out how much of a skill shortage in IT there is, is as follows :

Count how many people are in work in the UK.

Assume that out of that figure, 80% use a computer.

Out of that 80%, assume that only 10% know how to actually use a fecking computer.

The remainder are your skill shortage.

For my sanity the quicker I am out the IT industry the better, sadly someone in goverment will read that and believe it.

The last time there was a bump in Visa numbers they worked out there was a skill shortage by looking at job server and seeing 10,000 jobs every day, they never twigged that there was multiple adds for about 500 jobs and the rest was from agents fishing.

I do despair at the apparent level of intelligence of people sometimes.

    Here we go again......

What they mean is the big consultancies want another 714,000 IT staff who are willing to work for minimum wage because they are too cheap to pay the market rate!

Maybe they should make a faster track visa, or invent something like a training visa scheme, where they can do minimal checks to speed the process up!

    IT Skills Shortage

WTF - report claiming shortage of 714,000 people with IT skills in the UK next year !

    http://www.computerweekly.com/Articl...oring-risk.htm

It's near the end of the article - obviously this professor has had no cause to go near a job board recently. More like surplus of 714,000 people with IT skills next year.
