I would hate to become one of them. I was just looking for educational matter that could lead to industry recognised certification, and that the panel might give me a steer.

With my background in BPM, I could PM BPM projects which is something I have yet to find a PM that can.

Has anyone done it? Is it worth it?

    Found a book

Been a code monkey for years, and have been doing BPM for the last 5, including some black belt data modelling and business analysis. I feel like I need new challenges and rather than just go and waffle my way into a PM role I wanted to migrate into it, by laying some firm training and foundations first. Kind of a like a five year plan if you will.

I put it to the panel.

I don't see any significant advantage. If you're going to put the study time in I'd go straight for usual PMP/PRINCE2 certs.

If you're looking for an entry-level role then having the "proper" certs would help more than CAPM. With no PM experience there's always going to be a degree of waffling to get that first role.

    My 2p's worth.
