I'm sure that if the Muslims complained, Labour would bring out the army to help them.

This last time we had trouble with the French navy was a pesky little incident over at Trafalgar. Soon sorted that.

Personally I'd be up for operation stack filtering out only the french lorries and leaving them till last. After all they are doing it to support their country men.

Funny how the French are prepared to unite and strike in order to defend their rights, while the British workers have pretty much surrendered their rights... is cheddar a British cheese?

Do you really think the French navy would sink a ferry containing British civilians?

    Full speed forward!

They're blocking the ports again over fishing quotas, meaning that ferry services are getting cancelled.

    Now....

    30,000 tonne ferry
    Travelling at 21 knots

Why not just ram them out of the way?
The French Navy, that's why. The French government regards French protestors as a legitimate part of the republic, therefore anybody (apart from the French government) who attempts to interfere with them is attacking the French state, and can expect to meet its defence forces.

We saw this a few years ago when French lorry-drivers blockaded Calais. British lorry-drivers trapped by this appealed in vain to the French police to help free them. But when the blockade ended and British drivers threatened to block in the French drivers in return, they were told that they would immediately be arrested and their vehicles confiscated if they did so.

The French government looks out for French people. We don't have anything corresponding to that here.

It's all a ploy by the French government to allow illegal immigrants more time to jump aboard lorries waiting in long queues, to get them out of France and into the UK.

P&O are going to try and sue:

"P&O has said the protest was costing £1m a day and it was preparing a compensation case against the fishermen. "
