In other words the punters would be presumed guilty and would have to prove their innocence.

It struck me the other day. Trafficked women also get roped into acting in porn films don't they? So shouldn't the home secretary and her husband be arrested and held in custody until we can be sure none of the women in the porn they were watching (at our expense!) had not been trafficked? Better safe than sorry.

And definately held "under anti-Terrorism legislation". After all, don't get keep getting told that the proceeds of crime go to fund terrorist activities

But the key part isn't what he did, but

a) Whether his actions were harming anyone else. The fact that it was auto- should answer that one - although I feel a bit sorry for his fiance at the time, now a Tory MP.

b) Whether there is any hypocracy - did he publicly oppose those kind of actions. I know John Major had his Back to Basics campaign at the time, but I don't know how what this MP (Steven Milligan) had to say about this at the time.


I couldn't care less what MP's get up to in private as long as it doesn't affect the public and there is no hypocracy


So I do take issue with
a) John Major having an affair while issuing his Back to Basics campaign.
b) John Prescott being chief prosecutor on Tory sleaze, while busily banging his secretary.
c) Jackie Smith claiming expenses clearly unrelated to her work as an MP (porno films).

But unless anyone can shed any light on the Stephen Milligan incident (e.g. he charged the stockings to his expense account), his actions rate well below all of these...

This came right out of number 10. The suggestion by the labour lackey dolly draper that no-one else was involved is frankly ridiculous. That no-one else was expected to read it is also ridiculous. Currently the party and blogging faithful are trying to save Tom Watson and keep Gordon out of it, despite the fact that they attempted to save McBride first thing this morning.
