Crickey, what with Gary Gygax in March last year, and now Dave Arneson this year, the parents of D&D have re-rolled and gone to another place in such a short space of time !

I blame WotC, they have done everything they can to draw a line under 4th Edition that has resulted in big upheavals in the campaign settings and now to make sure there is no going back they are purging the world of people who may have the power to do something about it!!!
You heard it here first, 4th Edition is EVIL!!!!!!

Great shame, but does show the age of D&D. I remember playing a lot late seventies/early eighties with a good group of friends - it was all a lot of fun.
Although the games have got more involved and complex/real over the years, nothing quite matches a good D&D game (well, in a nostalgic way anyway!).
