You are missing the point. What they were trying to do was readdress the balance. At the moment most teenage boys get their sex education from porn. This results in a completely screwed up attitude to sex and women. The program was showing that porn isn't as glamorous as it looks, but also that it isn't normal sex.

I thought it covered the subject very well, and is what is needed in schools.

    Well done C4

I hear its not just teenage boys but primary school boys too!
and they don't really understand what its about but can act out a whole porn movie in the playground.

Thats nothing compared to what I saw the other night on SAT1, which is AFAIK a mainstream German channel which I get on cable in Spain.

It was some chat show in the vein of Graham norton & they had a little skit where they were testing out the efficacy of various aphrodisiacs.
Cue the entry of 3 nude blokes and, well you can probably guess the rest. First one to get a chubby wins!

We stuck to the facts and correct scientific terms and she is quite happy with the information she has. Its also a lot better when watching animal programs 'cos she now knows what the elephants are up to when they climb on top of each other - so no more squirming on the sofa for us!

We'll deal with the emotional stuff when she hits puberty.
We got the same questions at 5 from our daughter. Again just told her the facts, and got her a couple of books that are targeted at her age. She didn't have any problem with it at all. Although she is adamant that she isn't going to have any babies.

The government have got sex education completely wrong. They are afraid of upsetting parents which cling on to Victorian ideals.

I was watching Auf Wiedersehen Pet on ITV4 last night

Never seen the program but it must be a big issue for parents these days, when I was young porn would be a sticky copy of Escort, probably stolen from someones dad, that was passed about the class. Now they can access some pretty hard core stuff from their phones if they wish. God knows what that is doing to their minds.

didnt see the program - but if that was the point of it then its seems like a good idea. I also have to confess i have never been interested in porn but as we are constantly bombarded by semi pornographic images (in the media) I am aware of what it entails! Sex education is fine in my opinion and should be compulsory from Primary school.
BUT what we need in this country is more education about the emotional aspects of sex - that is something which is not really addressed IMHO.

Why do kids of 11, 12 ,13 have sex? because they think everyone else is and they think its grown up and they think they'll look cool with their mates.
They are too young to deal with the emotional aspects and the resulting offspring.

Ok, I must have stumbled across it on C4+1 or More4 then.

Either way, it's still after the watershed.
