Hope you'll keep on posting Mich - I've got a few weeks before I'm out on my arse (unless anyone takes a look at the logs before then) and I need all the help I can get to stay awake.
    Good hunting!

I might have a go for sea trout again this year. Need to get my rod licence tomorrow.

Yep, and seeing as I can do technical translation the rates are OK for working from home; not exactly exciting work though, so I don’t really see it as a long term plan.

I'll find out a week tomorrow if my contract will renew for another 3 months..

God I hope so, although a couple recruiters I've spoken to have said the market is picking up slightly...

fingers crossed for you...and maybe me too

Thanks. I’m not going to turn it down, especially since I took a rate cut to subsidize their loss making crock of tulip.

    Last day at clientco

Benched as of tomorrow. War chest is OK; should last 6 months at least, and if I work a couple of days per week in the pub, with a little translation work on the side, I can hold out for well over a year, so I’m not too worried. However, the market’s tulipe for testers right now, so I’ll spend some time brushing up technical skills until I start seriously looking for a new contract. Luckily summer’s coming, so I might be able to get to the beach a few times.

ClientCo gave me a very smart handblown decanter and wine glass set, which I accepted as gracefully as poss; it seems some people like me after all.

Working...
