    I use Cygwin/X which works pretty well. Just make sure you follow the instructions clearly and install the correct packages:

    Remember to set up X11 authentication in your Putty as well.

    I use X-Deep/32 4.6.5 when I need to use X over ssh, seems to work ok, occasional crash. I believe that the versions above 4.6.5 are no longer freeware.

    I think Cygwin now do an X Windows port you can install on Windows. Never used it though.
