    The way these "might consider a contractor" companies normally work it out would be:

    £35000 (salary) divided by 235 (working days minus holidays) = £148 day rate or £20/hour.

    Does anybody know what this means on a CUK job search?

    This vacancy appears to be permanent. However, the board has indicated contractors will also be considered for this role.
    I mean, I can read English; but I would like to know how the board has indicated this, and whether it is true.

    But does it matter? If they quote a salary of 35k, then even if they are prepared to consider contractors seriously, what sort of rate might they have in mind?
