Of course the fact that his internet history is stuffed full of all sorts of material combined with his propensity to click every pop-up which says "873287 viruses detected, click here to download our free scanner and remove it" may have something to do with it.

Anyone else bother with this sort of tulipe? I suppose it's easy money
Yep - I have exactly the same scenario as above and all sorts turns up in his history - p0rn, escort sites, the lot. He has also given his credit card details out to dodgy websites - basically the guy is a virus writers/scammers dream. I despair sometimes, I really do. But it's a very profitable 'account' for me.

I also support a girl who has 2 Macs - the only thing I've ever had to do was install more memory and Time Capsule plus Mozy. Not my most profitable account

WHS - my parents update theirs every time I go over there.

I spent an hour on the phone to my brother at Christmas, after he'd clicked on the "you have 43 viruses, click here to remove them" link....

I am frequently asked to 'look into' problems with friends' PCs - one kept calling when she bought a new Macbook 'how do I print?', 'what is a keychain?' and such like. In the end I told her to use the handy 'help' menu and read about these things before she even considered calling.

After a couple of calls that went something like 'how do I...?' me: 'have you read the help menu?' her: 'oh, hang on... ah yes, there it is'... it stopped.

I also spend at least 2 hours every Christmas 'fixing' my dad's PC, mostly due to spacker errors like clicking on any old link etc. I installed ZA, AVG etc but they never update the definitions file.

    Ah well...

You wanna try a spell in a chip shop on a Friday Saturday night for meeting up with some proper mentalists.
If it's anything like when I was 17 and used to run my father's taxi-cab office late at night, I can imagine and sympathise.

Neither do a great deal of posts on the forums either, but I don't see you complaining about them.

    So why this one ?

Is the thought of other people doing support work to earn some extra pennies somehow not pleasing to you ?

It's IT work, and I dare say some contractors do some in their spare time.

Therefore the subject has more right to be discussed on these boards than many that have gone before it.

What on earth has Chav's got to do with it ?

As a troll post goes, it was successful.

Successful in highlighting how retarded you are in your opinions of others.
