    Can we not standardise man sports accross continents. Just wondered.
    Netball was developed from baseball, not the other way round.

    Rounders was the poor man's cricket: the egalitarian Americans adopted that as the basis for their baseball because it was the people's game.

    Indeed. The British empire wasn't built by overgrown babies in padded 1980s power suits, but solid chaps who didn't complain about the odd bout of quadriplegia and just went out and got on with giving fuzzy-wuzzies a good whacking.
