    I'm thinking the IMF will demand massive public sector spending cuts as a condition for any loan. The good news here is that will spell the end of New Labour for half a generation.

He has been waiting all his life to see someone capable of doing anything worthwhile in British politics get into Downing St, and now that it has happened for the first time (him) he can't let the People down, he has to stay. He can't take the risk of being voted out, it would be a disaster for Britain.
