An ashen faced Alistair Darling would nether confirm nor deny cliams that AJ Pruffock was 'close to collapse' after a heavy weekend.

The Dow Jones index plummeted as investors agonised over Pruffock's Bailout request for a fiver - might prove the final straw for the global economy.
