Do you remember the good old days
    Before the ghost town?
    We danced and sang,
And the music played inna de boomtown

As long as I've got work....I'm not bothered. i've got plenty in the bank...unlike said companies. If it comes to it I'll just starting doing networking and setups and virus scanning for a fiver to survive.

Are the BBC doing a daily Job-Losses feature on the news, like they did in the 1980s?

JCB just announced another 684 jobs to go

A search for UK job losses to date shows that only Stormfront appears to be keeping a tally..must be biding their time

Now that smells fishy - insurance job perhaps ???
A great tradition in textile industry the 1970s. A joiner I know was doing some repairs at a mill while still an apprentice, and was asked if he intended taking his tools home oer the weekend. He said "No", and the reply was "Take your tools home lad". Over the weekend, the mill was destroyed by fire

    Another Plan B - become a fireman?

Findus lean Cuisine springs to mind.

Maybe people got too fat and couldnt be bothered with low fat frozen meals filled with E numbers?

I got my sofa from Sofa Workshop, long lead time of 10 weeks because the poles were shutting the factory for Easter, but good service and outstanding quality. Shame as they had smaller friendlier store fronts throughout london.

What the media is not telling you is that trouble began soon after they chose the now controversial Bank of Antartica for offshore purporses - little did they suspect Bank of Antartica was managed by an Eskimo and Two Penguins - they could not stand the meltdown and the Eskimo , nor the penguins - are taking any calls as to the status of their frozen account.
