    So true !! You forgot to mention those public sector gold-plated pensions that they will also be taxed heavily for. The next Tory government will be very unpopular with the public sector because these pensions have to be scrapped !!

    Not so much different from the 1970s under Old Labour. Many of my university friends (myself included) had "trainee" in the job title for at least their first year in a job. This allowed employers to claim training subsidies from the government. From what I could gather, these could be quite substantial, covering a good chunk, if not most of your salary.
