He was a clever bloke, commanded great respect and was totally against the ERM, just as I was. Thatcher's biggest downfall was listening to the pro-ERM brigade.

I spotted the story earlier today but decided not to post it, as I know our Labourite friends here have had enough Tory stories from me for one day.

Nice to see somebody else keeping up the tradition !!
