Your a contractor it goes with the territory. Sorry to hear your on the bench not a nice place to be but you need to not get this angry over something like this.

Your not a permie - if you want 30 days notice and "job security" then take the 40% tax and all over lower pay that goes with it.

This is business - time of the year has nothing to do with it.

Me, personally I am just about to tell 120 employess that they no longer have jobs as of tommorrow for current client co. That's my role here - to get the operation more cost effective.

Now these are all agency temps. However 80% have been here 2 years and are as permanent as you can get. Yet they have no security and lower pay than the permies who have that "security".

Not nice work but something that comes with the territory. I'm sure ClientCo could find someone else willing to do it at the same daily rate as me.

So I just downloaded the latest CVS build, changed the names of the packages, removed the documentation and handed it to the client, Fujitsu were raging as I finished an 8 week job in 2 days and they lost thousands.

I came back in the next day and noticed the CVS revisions were all up to 1.1. I looked in the code and they had changed all the headers to Fujitsu copyright and removed my author tag in put in their consultants names.

I really do not know why people hire them, they are totally useless.
THAT does not surprise me! I was meant to perform a application virtualisation design on some apps and it was very clear that the solution they were using was not going to scale - there response? That is fine - we can bill for when we need to scale out and redesign.

Have you worked for them? I did 6 months with them and left in 2004 I think.

Couldnt beleive the attitued of the Permies and how they just really couldnt care less about anything. It was all about selling hours and days and ramping the team even though the team were tulip! I pulled the plug at 6 months and ran - was easy money mind you but you could easily rot there.

If that happens plenty of other contractors will be out of jobs and will compete with you for limited spaces...

Sorry to hear about that anyway...
