Why, they were the baby boomers who had all the post war benefits and prosperity without having to fight (except maybe those over 80).

Now they are poncing of the struggling younger generation, who have none of the advantages these oldies had.

Most of them had free university education and bought houses at 1% of the price they are now.

Youngsters have loads of debt and its impossible to buy a house.

Seems to me there is far too much given to oldies at expense of youngsters. Maybe the retirement age should be raised a bit?

Because people are stupid and think it's free money from fairy land.

Tres drole!, but as ticket/card barriers do not currently use facial or other biometric recognition this scam is a real issue. Even if a special noise or other indication can be made when the card is used, during rush hour catching someone will be impractical. To pull this scam off the person would still probably need a genuine card for usage when things look a bit dodgy.

What is to stop a younger person borrowing an +60's card. Very difficult to detect. For example I could borrow my grannies card. She never goes out. Hey presto free travel.

If they're granted refugee status, yes. Why not, Turion?

Totally agree. For a start free euthanasia/suicide assistance for the aged terminally ill, demented and incapacitated can be made available. That would save a few tax $$$ just when the country needs it.

Prompt commuter action must be used to overturn this ruling and prevent this chaos.

Just make it difficult for the old codgers. Don't give up your seat and push the slow'ns out the way.

    No change needed then
