I can see it happening now. They pay you half an hour a month to oversee it, on a fixed price basis. When it all goes to pot, you get to do the entire job yourself.

yep you just distance yourself from there undoubted cock ups as long as you really did "tell them" what they were doing was crap, offered a solution and have let the project manager know then its all good.......

NO, you only have to ‘oversee’ the bloody mess they make; the hands on bit is open to interpretation.Originally posted by expat View PostThe offshorers will do it but you will carry the can and you'll have to fix it.

Data Migration Specialist needed for an immediate start. My public sector client is at the initial stages of a migration from Access 97 database and Foxpro to Access 2000. You will be required to oversee the migration carried out by a third party and identify any immediate problems or issues they could face in the future. Although you will be required to over look the project the ideal candidate will be hands on when needed. The ideal candidate must have NHS experience and experience migrating more ->

I can do that. Feet up on the desk, cup of coffee and a spot where I can 'oversee', do 5 minutes of teting per day and any immediate problems are identified.
