I also successfully appealed a fine.

I had bought a ticket but it had slipped out of view.

Polite letter explaining situation accompanied by the ticket.

Let off with a, "Don't do it again".

I've been let of 2 tickets under stupid circumstances...

    1) I was parked out side an Oxfam dropping of items... got a ticket (what a f**king c**t).

    2) I was taking my granny to the hospital. I put her blue badge upside down in my car... given a ticket.

In both cases, i was very nice to the traffic warden. I wrote letters to the parking office and was let off.

If I were you, I'd send in a scanned copy of your 30 day pass, and say that it had fallen off the dashbaord (maybe when you shut the door). Don't be a smart arse. Be nice and fingers crossed you will be let off.

Lets be honest, you were stupid to not display the ticket, but, you shouldn't have to pay the fine as you legally did nothing wrong.

Just lie and say your permit was displayed.

Unless they took a photo of your car when they gave out the ticket there's not a right lot they can argue with.

He's being fined the same as someone who has not bought a ticket though. On proof of being in possession of a valid ticket, he should either:
    • be refunded 1/30th the cost of the monthly ticket
    • the fine be reduced to take into consideration proof of a lesser offence

Bloody jobsworths. I died in the war for people like them.

Is there any way to avoid paying it? Is it worth hiring Mr Loophole?
Is it covered by an appeals process like council parking is?

Well, to be fair, if people with well paid jobs can spend their time posting on CUK, why don't people with crap jobs like traffic warden just find a greasy spoon cafe to sit down with a cuppa and read the paper instead of making everyone hate them?

Didn't we all go and visit a forum for people who refuse to take any responsibilty for where and when they park earlier this year?

It doesn't seem right that you pay and get fined. One or the other, you should at least be entitled to 1/30th of your money being refunded. What the legal position is I have no idea though.

    You could try this: http://www.majicari.com/index.php?sid=39

You write a sob story and get enough people to vote for it and they'll pay your ticket.
