4x4
I wonder where the notation 4x4 first came from? Averyone knows that these vehicles don't have 16 wheels!

correction, this,
Skoda/Seat/Volkswagen/Audi
should have said...
Bentley/Lamborghini/Porsche/Skoda/Seat/Volkswagen/Audi
Nice to know my Skoda was designed by the same man who designed the Bentley Continental GT - notice it has the same front as the Fabia.

alexander,
"Milan you are full of sh1t, how can you call Merc cars rebadged Chryslers? Chrysler barely makes European like cars!",
I know it is a difficult concept for youy Ruskies to comprehend, but Daimler and Chrysler are now the same company and as a result share platforms ala Skoda/Seat/Volkswagen/Audi
So next time you see a new shape E class Merc just remember it is infact the same platform as the Chrysler 300 only with a different body the rest of the product lines will follow suit.
I used to want a Mercedes but seeing as they are indeed these days rebadged Chryslers I'll leave for the chavs thank you.
Milan.

my point is, these motoring journos write some right nonsense, what's the difference between this Chinky thing and for example a second hand Isuzu Trooper or Mitsubishi Shogun for the same money ?
I am confident a second hand Shogun or Trooper for the same money will be of such an age that they too have engineering and safety features more commonly found in the nineties

What's worse a brand new 4x4 for 10k or a second hand car for 10k ?
What would you buy MB? A brand new BMW or a second-hand Mercedes for the same money?
For me it'd be the Merc every time!

"And the cars of 20 years ago were generally crap and dangerous",
that is a bit of a generalisation old chap.
I think you mean 40 years ago.
If this thing _is_ based upon the Frontera as it looks then in general there is no reason why it shouldn't be a good enough car for some people.
What's worse a brand new 4x4 for 10k or a second hand car for 10k ?

If they are prepared to pay for it then the manufactures will sell it. Hence the market is driven by the customer not by the VM.
