    I got a renewal notice through from Directline and they wanted £653 for the year, I went on their own site and was quoted £448 for the exact same deal.

    I rang them and said I'd rather have the cheaper option please!

    They must make a lot of money from lazy people.

    1) My contracts always state analyst or programmer.
    2) The travel to different sites is 'Business cover' which was selected for both!!

    I am a programmer by virtue of writing c#/vba/sql, dont act like a consultant and via agencies rather than direct so nope, they wouldnt have a leg to stand on

    Consultant is probably expected to drive to client's premises - different ones, so different risk.

    If you get wrong job description you might be shooting yourself in the foot - the insurance company will argue you provided materially wrong information that reduced your risk in their eyes.
