To be honest I'd rather the agents knew about their business rather than mine. If they require help regarding their understanding of certain aspects of a particular role then I'm more than happy to help them.
By helping an agent understand he/she will have a favourable view about my knowledge in that particular area.
Agents are good as middlemen, they open up the opportunity, I close the deal.

Pay a bit more and hire people who have a vague idea of the world. My main issue with these 'recruitment consultants' is that they are often 18 years old and stupid. Worse than this is that they treat contractors who know their business better than they do as imbeciles, who will swallow any old bull. You're not selling a conservatory to an old woman here son.
They need to know about opt in/out and what it means, they need to have a reasonable understanding of ir35 issues, they need to know the fundamentals of the role they are recruiting for.
They also need to appreciate that a rate that sounds like a lot of money to them doesn't necessarily sound like a lot of money to a potential candidate.
That's all I want. Someone with a fking clue. Stop 'streamlining' by adding an idiot who can barely work the phone to the 'process'.
