Face facts. You boys have been moaning about how bad your like in the UK is for years. If you haven’t left yet, you’re not going to.
Your passion is the British passion – moaning about your life. Britain is the best place in the world for you to indulge in this passion. Although I suppose you could argue that the internet has made it possible for people to moan about life in the UK without actually being here (Milan being a classic example). It’s a sort of tele-moaning.

Yes I will fly it, actually it constitutes about 1/4 of the whole flag I will be flying! Might add some red stars in the other 75% or something, just to make it look nicer
Actually in a way GB is investing in a bit of NZ through me - that's a nice way of looking at it. Evasion? Avoidance? No! Just "investment offshoring" really, in the same mould as the offshore outsourcing that UK companies get up to.

Rebecca, I hope you proudly fly the Union Jack when you return home with all the money you have extorted out of the UK and buy your little bit of New Zealand.
After all, the money should have been given to Gordon, in all "fairness".

Oz/Nz
Pros: Good weather, great lifestyle, less cultural/langauge hurdles, great beaches/mountains, fair job markets.
Cons : Very far away.
Very nice summary Sunnysan, I would add, for Oz/NZ: fair job markets yes but low wages. So basically you need to have already made (most of) your money before you get there. Suppose it's the same with eastern europe.

Sunnysan,
you are indeed correct, and therein lies the problem, there is just no alternative to living in the UK.
Europe - yuck.

Dreary Cities
Ok ok, just sometimes some of Stalins post war creations seem to be a bit forbidding. Not that british post war housing solutions where much better, come to think of it
I havent been to Sofia, and I have to admit even parts of Warsaw are nice, Prague is great too but same deal once you get out in some districts Praha 5 etc
Ok so I was worng about dreary buildings. What about the other aspects?
BTW Peckam is awful and stop being a racist

I disagree about East European cities being dreary. Some are, but some are extremely beautiful. Been to Peckham recently?
South Africa
Cons: Too many darkies.

Cyprus
Pros : Only 4.5 hrs away. Low taxes. In EU but takes no notice of all the bulltulip red tape. Great climate. Strong expat community. English widely spoken. Drive on the left. Good health care. Low crime and friendly family oriented lifestyle. Locals generally friendly. Relatively stable politically.
Cons : Not great employment prospects. Can lack the excitement/choice of the UK. Some Greek style bureaucracy. Frigging hot in mid summer. Divided island (turks in the North).

Pros and cons
Ok leaving england everybody....here is a list of my pros and cons
South Africa
Pros: Great weather, cheap houses, unparrelled lifestyle if you have the dosh, emerging growing economy, goos macro economic policies
Cons: Far away, Rampant crime (security orientated lifestyle), cr"p if you have no money zero social support, not that many jobs(geared to own business and euntrapaneurship), No viable state healthcare, corrupt civil service, even more corrupt police. If you (As a white boy) get caught drunk driving and have to spend a night in the cells, you have a good chance of getting killed.
Western Europe (Obvious variations based on country)
Pros: Clean, Good healthcare, family orientated life style, comparable salaries. Nicer weather
Cons: Cultural\language differences which may cause work and social difficulties, high taxes
Eastern Europe
Pro: Cheap, Lots of space, nice countryside
Cons: Institutionally corrupt, no guarentee for respect of your human rights, large influence of organized crime on business and social aspects of life. Dreary cities, underdeveloped job markets, bigger social/language hurdles. Freezing winters.
Scandinavia
Cue Threaded
USA
Pros: Arguably better lifestyle, bigger houses, less cultural hurdles
Cons: Fundemental Christian rightwing government rivalling the Taliban in its extremism
Oz/Nz
Pros: Good weather, great lifestyle, less cultural/langauge hurdles, great beaches/mountains, fair job markets.
Cons : Very far away.
Anybody add anythign else? Be interested to see pros and cons through the eyes of other people
