German economy continues creating employment in October
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) – German labour market continues showing signs of strength, as the unemployment figures declined for the fifth consecutive month in October, and so did the Unemployment rate, according to figures released by the German Office of Employment.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has ticked down to 7.5% in October, from 7.6% in September, while the total volume of unemployed workers has declined by 26,000, beating the experts expectations of a 10,000 decline. October’s decrease in unemployment follows declines by 28,000 and 39,000 in September and August respectively.

So, in a way I take this comparison as a compliment.
they also used jesters as spies and assassins

Germany's economy doesn't look too bad looking at the Wiki:
Germany is the largest national economy in Europe, the third largest by nominal GDP in the world, and ranked fifth by GDP (PPP),[67] its growth rate in 2007 was 2.4%. Since the age of industrialisation the country has been motor, innovator and beneficiary of an ever more globalized economy. The export of goods "Made in Germany" is one of the main factors of the country's wealth. Germany is the world's top exporter with $1.133 trillion exported in 2006 (Eurozone countries are included) and generates a trade surplus of €165 billion.[68] The service sector contributes around 70% to the total GDP, the industry 29.1% and agriculture 0.9%. Most of the country's products are in engineering, especially in automobiles, machinery, metals, and chemical goods.[23] Germany is the leading producer of wind turbines and solar power technology in the world. The largest, annual, international trade fairs and congresses are held in several German cities such as Hanover, Frankfurt and Berlin.
Population density:
Germany 230/km²
England 392/km²
