Have you checked the stats for Bangladesh?
It's amazing, over 1000 per km2! Projected to double by 2050. They will literally be standing on top of each other soon. For reference, crowded European nations (England, Low countries) have about 300 p/km2
What an incredibly stupid World we live in.

I don't recall ever advocating bringing in economic migrants, and I can't ever see myself voting Labour. I'm merely pointing out that reducing the current birth rate is likely to exacerbate what is already an increasing problem.
The answer does not necessarily lie in increasing the birth rate. In fact it takes years for a baby to grow into a productive member of society.
We have millions of unemployed in the UK, many possibly due to our useless education system, and also many due to low aspirations, low self esteem and high benefits available. What we need to do is to reduce their benefits, train/educate them, build their confidence and get them off of the dole.
On top of that there are many older people that want to work but are discriminated against due to age. Let's get them into work if they are capable.
I agree entirely with the idea of stopping the population growing to the extent that it can no longer be supported. However, I think this strategy would be far more effective in developing nations already struggling with high food prices etc.
OK. Which is the greater evil:
1. Breeding like rabbits on Viagra until we literally run out of everything.
2. Introducing mechanisms to reduce the now dangerously large population.
