Let’s Learn Judo with Vladimir Putin sees the ex-KGB agent in a series of Kremlin PR stunts aimed at getting his countrymen to take up martial arts.

The premier, a black belt who turned 56 yesterday, insists: “Without sports, it’s impossible to speak of a healthy way of life.”

Mr Putin is a former judo champion in his home city of St Petersburg.
