Well, FYI the Daily Jockograph, the Glasgow Herald, is a notorious Tory Unionist rag. The authors of the special report were roundly condemned in the readers' comments for managing to put a unionist slant on even this feature.

What is sad is that this will not appear in the English press, just as the most vitriolic anti-Scottish rants do not appear in Scotland (Kelvin MacKenzie's column, for example, is not carried in the Scottish edition of the Sun). The press is having a high old time stirring it up, without facing up to those who might disagree.

You are correct. Wife informs me that they used to charge the same at our local clinic dispensary regardless of number of items but this changed some time ago. I'm just out of touch really

I am asthmatic, it is not going away but he wont write scripts to cover me from one check up to the next.

Hopefully I will benefit from Golden Clowns latest gift.

My daughter needs a steroid inhaler for a mild asthma condition. She is assessed every 3 months. In that time she goes through 2 inhalers.

Can I persuade the GP to write a script for 2 inhalers and pay one lot of prescription charges? Oh no! Certainly not!

They actually make money on some prescriptions, a few years ago I was prescribed some iron tablets but when I handed over the prescription at boots the nice man said I could buy the same thing for £1.50! The doctor obviously thought I looked ‘well to do’ so it was only fair for me to give a little extra funding to the NHS.
