    Ambergris (Ambra grisea, Ambre gris, ambergrease, or grey amber) is a solid, waxy, flammable substance of a dull gray or blackish color produced in the digestive system of sperm whales.

    In 2008 it was thought that a chunk of ambergris weighing up to 500 kg and valued at $15,000,000 (30$/Gram) washed up on the shores of New Zealand however such a belief was later ruled out by Council officers and it is more likely to have been dumped industrial lard off a vessel.
