Hello all,

I've come to this board to seek the collective wisdom of its patrons.

I've been a C++/C/Java/Unix contractor in the finance industry for around 5 years now, in that time working for most of the big investment banks. However I have to admit that I don't really have an interest in the world of finance. Probably like most, I'm just here for the money, and drifted in straight out of uni.

So what else is out there? What other industries employ significant numbers of software developers? Are there domains/industries of much higher interest than finance? Please offer your advice.
