    It depends where you are. Taxi prices in Cambridge are incredibly expensive!

    It can get truly horrifying I think. For the orignal owner of my car:-

    Puchase price 63095, Sale price 12000 = 51095
    Mileage 48000 @ 20 = 12000, Servicing, insurance road tax, tyres = 4000

    Total 65000 = 1.36 per mile.

    For subsequent owner (me) it aint much better either:

    Purchase price 13000, Current value 3000
    Mileage 25000 @ 20 = 6250. Insurance etc = 2000

    Total = 18250 = 73p

    I guess if I keep it for another 100k miles it's get more cost effective.

    Another mate just sold an Turbo R. The depreciation only worked out at about 2.40 per mile......

    The prices on the S don't seem to have been too badly battered (like some other makes) from what I can see. Think it's because it falls below the new car tax scam level (just)
    I've had a couple of bites but need to advertise it properly though.

    Anyone here considered using a Taxi for all commuting instead of running a premium day to day car? Relax in the back, no depreciation, running costs, insurance and you can have a few beers after work if you feel like it?

Have dropped £700 quid and listed again now that the baby is less hassle and had a couple of calls but all saying they cannot pay advertised price. Will be about £1200 off the guide price in May by the time I sell I expect.

    Made the mistake of making it as tidy as possible before selling, should have listed sooner and for slightly less
    What Golf have you got and how much is it on for? I'm looking for a Mk5 golf at the moment. Not offered any yet though
