    Friday Poetry Corner

    Sing, Big Baby Sing Lullaby

Lay your sleeping head, my love,
    Human on my faithless arm;
    Time and fevers burn away
    Individual beauty from
    Thoughtful children, and the Grave
    Proves the child ephemeral:

But in my arms till break of day
    Let the living creature lie,
    Mortal, guilty, but to me
    The entirely beautiful.

The Din of your days work - now subdued
    another day wasted - now
    maddening darkness soon to arrive

Your daily round is done with
youve logged off and got the garbage out
answered some tiresome letters and paid some bills

    Now for Oblivion -
let your last Thoughts - all be Thanks
Yes my Loves - we have been lucky
    Sing, Big Baby Sing Lullaby
