A mate of mine (complete car nut) has sold his new Boxster S, 350Z, Astra VXR, Lotus and Celica, so I reckon it's pretty bad.
He reckons the bottom is falling out of the top end car market and he can sell his "fleet" now and pick up a bargain supercar later.

The Phaeton does have a very good price/gadgets ratio. The thing that worries me is the awful reputation that older A8s have for electrical maladies - I can't see the Phaeton being any better.

No, I think that Wimslow bought a new one. Not necessarily a bad move as good deals can be had, but it will still lose 50-65% in depreciation during the first 2-3 years.
