I do all my bulk printing at work backed up by my Mum's printer for smaller jobs if it's the weekend.

Its now cheaper to buy the printer with ink/toner, than to buy the ink/toner by itself! Buy>use>throw>buy>use>throw....i think u get itOriginally posted by Mustang View PostWith printers available for home use that are getting very complex, what cleaning or "maintenance" do people do on them (if any)?

No, mine is all in one. I am betting that it will outlast the cost of a service contract and extended warranty period. If it does then it is a throw away item when it goes wrong. It will be more expensive to repair than to replace.Originally posted by Mustang View PostMy one is a multi-function as I wanted fax and copy facilities (scanning is useful too). Are you saying get seperate bits of kit for each of these instead?

What DP said. I bought a £19.99 HP printer last week and the print quality is as good as the £299.99 Epson it's replacing. It probably won't last as long but at £19.99 who cares?

A cheap £40 laser printer (recommend Brother) and when it plays up, chuck away and repeat.
