Like most here, I couldn't be bothered to spend a whole day just to find out what happened. Seems increasingly that some posters bear excessive grudges for no reason other than carrying a chip on their shoulder.
I appreciate the Mods can't be everywhere and/or please everyone, but I think we are in need of some more to add to the existing 2. I hence propose Churchill and DP for the new posts.

It seems some people use this board as a way in which to score points off others by verbally bullying them.
Forums and other discussion options opened up by the Internet revolution have increased not only the potential for good but also evil. Unmanaged or loosely-moderated forums can allow (often anonymous) members to bully others.
In the UK we enjoy the right to discuss our different opinions on any issue. However we don't have the right to impose these on others. We don't have the right to bully, to slander, to lie in order to impose our view or to otherwise damage and harm another person or organisation.
If you can prove somebody, for example kicks puppies, you can say it. If not, that person has every right, under UK law to subsequently take legal action against you for defamation and libel. You have deliberately damaged their character with a lie or a fact for which you have no proof.
There is a whole world of difference between "friendly ribaldry and banter" and "deliberate remarks intended to cause offence and harm".
Since being a member of this board and its previous incarnation over several years, it is readily apparent that the amount of personal vitriol has increased to what I feel is an unacceptable and dangerous level.
Unless something is done by the owners and moderators of the board, I feel that it is only a matter of when, not if, a member makes an official and legal complaint, which will result in the loss of the whole board.
Why the pompous patronising tone just because Lucy is a girl? If any of us guys had said that, nobody would raise a murmur, and she's probably right anyway.
The tone is there because I'm quite ****ed off with the constant bitching and fighting in almost every thread she posts in.
IMO several potentially interesting discussions have degraded in to slagging matching - with Lucy as the common denominator in all of them.
