I read this is today's Torygraph - very interesting. She cites violence between Iraqui and Pakistani youths over women as an example of stuff she's having to deal with now.

Blokes have always fought over women. Why is it any different becuase they are all ethnics?

The bit that I found interesting was "Mrs Spence said in Peterborough alone, 93 cultures were now represented and 100 languages spoken."

100 languages sounds a heck of a lot. I wonder if every dialect is classed as a different language.

Should the esteemed boards members ever be benched for an extended period of time & the Government refused to halt the HSMP-would there ever come a point at which they would consider this ?

Or will it mainly affect the low & semi skilled market?

The worsening credit crisis could lead to ethnic violence on Britain's streets as jobs become more scarce, one of the country's most senior police officers has warned.
Julie Spence, Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire, said her officers were already struggling to cope with the consequences of migration and warned that if the economic downturn continued, it would heighten tensions in communities with large numbers of migrant workers.

Speaking at the Police Federation conference in Bournemouth on Wednesday, Mrs Spence said: "We do wonder what is going to happen as the credit crunch starts to bite. We have already seen [claims that] 'people are taking our jobs'.

"What does the future hold? We have to be very alive and alert to that as police officers if we want to live in cohesive communities."
